Cycling around the lake with fantastic volcano views!

Your adventure starts at Gravel Travel in Puerto Varas, heading north with the volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco in view almost the entire way — they'll accompany you for the whole loop around Lago Llanquihue.

Along the way, the landscape keeps shifting: lakeside towns with a strong German heritage dating back to the 19th century, quiet beaches perfect for a picnic stop, and a stretch near Ensenada where the scenery turns rainforest-like. The final kilometers back to Puerto Varas follow a dedicated cycling path along the shore, with a chance to spot local wildlife like herons — and maybe even a huillín (southern river otter) at Laguna La Poza.

After 160 kilometers, it's time to celebrate! The Vuelta al Lago is complete, and we'll welcome you back at Gravel Travel with a smile.
